RHCSA RHCE Certification – RHEL9

Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA): Skill in system administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems and earning RHCSA RHCE certification is a core competency in the modern data center. Linux is an integral technology enabling the hybrid cloud architecture across physical servers, virtual machines, private and public cloud infrastructures. Red Hat Enterprise Linux is the de facto standard Linux distribution across all these architectures. As you seek to move to containers and a hybrid cloud architecture, core Linux administration skills remain increasingly necessary.

Through Red Hat Certified System Administration curriculum (RH124 & RH134), you will understand the core skills needed to be a bridge to the contemporary data center, containers, and cloud computing technologies in order to become more valuable to your organization.

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE): For nearly 23 years the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification program has certified IT professionals who are skilled, proven and ready to take on projects which address evolving technology challenges. In that time, RHCSA RHCE certification credential has become known as one of the leading programs for Linux skills. As the industry itself has grown and changed, new technologies have emerged. How those technologies work together has shifted to a focus on hybrid cloud implementations. With this technology shift, automation has become an increasingly important skill for Linux system administrators. The evolution of IT industry has created a need for Red Hat to evolve the RHCE program to better enable Red Hat certified Professionals.

RH294 & EX294

An RHCSA who possesses additional skills and abilities required in data center services can earn RHCE. Red Hat is shifting the focus to automation of Linux system administration tasks using Red Hat Ansible Automation. This will change the requirements for achieving an RHCE credential.

With the release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, Red Hat will be offering a new course (RH294) and a new certification exam (EX294):
Red Hat System Administration III: Linux Automation (RH294): This course is designed for Linux system administrators and developers who need to automate provisioning, configuration, application deployment, and orchestration. You will learn how to install and configure Ansible on a management workstation and prepare managed hosts for automation.

Red Hat Certified Engineer exam (EX294): The exam will focus on the automation of Linux system administration tasks using Red Hat Ansible Automation and shell scripting. Red Hat Certified System Administrators (RHCSAs) whose status is current and who pass this new exam will become RHCEs.

One thing that Red Hat wants to assure you is that this is not a complete redesign of the program. You can still earn RHCE after first passing the Red Hat Certified System Administrator exam (EX200) and then passing RHCE exam keeping the RHCSA as current.
